There's a fire in the mountains near my house right now. At the moment, there's no danger but it's very dry and the winds could change anytime. I'm not really worried about it, though.

That's the fire seen behind my house. My house isn't burning. Click through for a bigger image.

In other news, a new bar just opened up around the corner from my house. Walking distance. And I know the owners (they're bowlers). And I'll probably know a lot of the regulars (also bowlers). This can't be good for my liver or wallet. It'll never be a problem getting the Mets game on, though. Also, they have a Wii in the bar. That should be... interesting.

The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed. Well let's see.

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE, and strikeout the books you read but didn't like.
4) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've read only 6 or less and make them read.

1. Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
2. The Lord of the Rings - JRR Tolkien
3. Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte
4. Harry Potter series - JK Rowling
5. To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee

23rd-Jun-2008 11:29 am - PSA: Not the droids you're looking for
This is a message to all friends, family members and current and potential future clients who google my full name.

The person with my name who writes Hannah Montana fan-fic (including a disturbing amount of Billy Ray Cyrus slash) is not me. Repeat: I am not the writer of the Hannah Montana fan-fic.

Thank you for your attention in this perplexing and troubling matter.

21st-Jun-2008 01:28 pm - Hey, Universe.
When I wake up screaming from a nightmare about floods, and can't shake my uneasiness all morning, it does not help when it starts pouring rain as soon as I leave the house.

Cut it the fuck out.
20th-Jun-2008 03:39 pm - Spore is still on track to incredible.
What can one say, Spore is still on track not to suck. Here's my collection so far. Totally spring the $10 and buy the editor, even if its blatantly evil of EA to charge for a friggin editor. At the very least, download the demo.

Here's a few videos.

Sadly, I lost my kitteh spore creature. For some reason, he didn't save.
